Big, bold, beautiful, New Arrival - a must read!
Bazzini Violin - Studio Model

This new shiny looking violin came to our shop about three weeks ago. My colleague opened the box and then I heard her shouting my name:” Ying, look, look, it has a yellow star printed on its tail piece.” I laughed when I saw it, and then this shiny looking varnish put me off because I thought “oh, it’s gonna be another bright sounding violin.” A few days later, after Richard carved a new Aubert bridge for it, and put on the Vision strings and it’s time for our verdict on this violin.
I chose the Jean Paul Martin (JM1) bow to play on this violin. I started on the A string as usual, simply because A string is the most played string on violin. The first position sounds clear, then I went up to third position, “oh, yeah, it sounds clear and live” not like some other bright sounding violin which only has a bright sharp tone but the sound is dead. So, OK, it passed my first test. Now, it’s the real big deal – the high E string. I started playing Beethoven’s Romance on the E string, and the violin started to sing, then I changed my tune to much higher positions on the E string, it’s now really singing out the note which I instantly liked it.
After I was satisfied with the E string, I played scales all the way down to G string, and now I am happy with the sound quality of this Bazzini studio model. I would describe it as a violin has a strong personality, big volume and yet gentle sounding on the higher register.
It’s exciting that for the first time we have had some violins in $1000 - $1300 price range. If you are looking for a violin in this price range, check this one out. After all, you get a bonus yellow star printed on the tail piece LOL!
At the moment, we haven’t listed the violin on our website yet. You are welcome to try it out at our shop, or if you are not from Melbourne, write us an email.
