Hi Gudrun, The Struna cellos are made in China. I went over to the workshop last year. There are 6 makers who hand-make the Strunas in a small building in Guangzhou. The head luthier is an amazing maker who trained in America, and is one of the best violin/cello makers I have met. They've been sending instruments to me for 3 years now and each time I receive a batch, I give advise on improving varnishing and thicknessing to improve the sound. They are sort of 'My baby'. Many instrument workshops over there have hundreds of makers, mass producing instruments in often not great conditions. I chose to work with the Struna people because of the head luthiers skill and the size and condition of the workshop. We sold our last Struna Master cello last week, but have a batch arriving in about 1 month. (they are hand made, so take about 2 months to make.)
